Rainbow cake

I came across a cute tutorial for this Rainbow cake at  http://www.onecharmingparty.com/. I decided to try and make it, I really enjoy baking things but they usually never turn out the way they are supposed to, or I forget about them and I end up burning them.

I totally surprised myself with this little creation today and although I was up late baking each layer, I think this will be my new Birthday Favorite!!!!!!

And no complaints from the little ones yet!!!!!!!

Although next time I will buy an extra packet of icing, I thought two would be enough but I think an extra one will do the trick!!!!!

Here is the Directions:
( I used 2 packets of Butter cake and divided into 5 bowls)

1. Divide your cake batter into 8 different bowls. Color each bowl of batter a different color. Bake each layer in a round pan. You will take turns using the pan over and over with each different color. Make sure to grease and flour your pan or put a round of baking paper in the bottom to prevent sticking. remember to cool your cake slightly before removing. Turn it out onto a cooling rack to finish cooling.

2. Once the cakes have cooled completely, freeze each layer individually wrapped in plastic. This will make it easier to assemble and frost the cake.

3. Once the cakes are frozen you can start layering your cake in a rainbow pattern, putting frosting in between each layer.

4. Frost the outside of the cake as well.

Welcome

“Our highest endeavor must be to develop free human beings who are able of themselves to impart purpose and direction to their lives. The need for imagination, a sense of truth and a feeling of responsibility-these three forces are the very nerve of education."

Welcome and thanks for stopping by my new creative space. I have a never ending passion for crafting and a bigger obsession with collecting fabrics, buttons etc, my over the top love for anything handmade, my genuine love to re-duce, re-use and re-cycle to help ease our eco footprints on the earth and my desire to provide my children with a nurturing childhood, free of anything commercial, has lead me to my obsession with everything Steiner/Waldorf. I also love taking photographs and hold a dream to one day become a professional photographer!!!!!I also love to read and often have many books on the go at the same time.  Here I share my thoughts, our adventures and our crafts. I'd love to hear from you....

I am hoping to start a steiner inspired playgroup in the near future so if u r interested just let me know thanks!!!
